In his early twenties, Jonathan David Baker began pursuing an undergraduate degree in fashion at the Academy of Art University School of Fashion in San Francisco, California, focusing on draped, patterned, and tailored garments. Upon completion, he immediately continued at the Academy in pursuit of a master's degree, this time focusing on hand and machine knitting. His MFA collection was shown by the school in New York Fashion Week. The collection offered a luxe and meticulously hand-worked mix of patterned and knit garments. While a student, Jonathan interned for Rodarte for five years. His work as a student has been favorably mentioned by Women's Wear Daily and by Cathy Horyn of The New York Times. Since moving to New York, Jonathan has worked as a staff designer for TSE and Paper Denim & Cloth while consulting for various companies.
